A Finished Biscornu!
This is the front of the first biscornu I have ever made! It turned out perfect and I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. I finished the scissors fob last night and it turned out perfect too! I really enjoyed stitching both. I was going to add beads to the joined edge but decided that I didn't like how it was turning out so took them out. I'm much happier with it finished this way. The design is from Linden Bee Designs and Nic will send it to you free of charge. She has other designs on her blog: http://beebarfsblog.blogspot.com/
I still have to send her pictures of the finished product but I wanted to post here first.
I feel great having finished something and really shouldn't start any more projects but I wonder sometimes if I'm a bit ADD because I don't focus very well on getting things done. Starting is fine, but finishing doesn't happen in a timely manner very often. I'll work on that. ;)
See you next post with hopefully something else finished.

Snow?...No.
I looked out the window last week and saw this scene. It looked like snow was on the ground of our backyard area. Pretty beautiful I think. But it wasn't cold enough to have been snowing and in any case snow doesn't stick to the ground here very often...we are too close to sea level.
Surprise! It was the blooms from the plum tree in the yard! Smelled wonderful and looked beautiful and I hope for lots of delicious plums this summer.
I've finished a biscornu and am working on the matching scissors fob. I am adding beads to the biscornu and it takes quite a bit of time. The beads don't always lay the way I want them to so I'm frustrated. I'll definitely have pictures with my next post. Enjoy life. See you again soon.

February Already???
It is more like February almost done? What happened to the last two months? January my husband and I planted in our greenhouse. We planted lettuce, spinach, and zucchini. That way I get zucchini fresh by May 1! The lettuce and spinach are great. We've had some twice now. Tonight I will fix lettuce from the greenhouse in a salad and we will have asparagus from our beds. It's the first asparagus of the year so we are very excited!
I have been stitching a little bit each evening. I wish I could say I've gotten lots done but I haven't. I am hoping for my first finish before the month is out. It's a biscornu and a scissors fob from a wonderful blogger at Linden Bee Designs, Nic. I hope to have it finished and a photo posted by the end of next week.
Quilting hasn't gone much faster. I have finished one quilt top for my son, Daniel's 17th birthday in early March. That is at the quilter right now. My friend Barbara Youngblood at Heartmade Quilts does a wonderful job. Daniel's quilt will be back soon and I'll post a photo of that too.
I did finish 3 quilt tops last November but haven't gotten all of them quilted yet. One was finished for my Grandson's first Christmas. It is called Alpha Buddies and I got the binding done at 4:30 on Christmas evening! Nothing like a last minute gift! LOL See the quilt above and I hope to post more often this year.

July Exchange Gift
I belong to a group that has an exchange in July. I finished my JEG and I am excited to be sending it off this week to it's recipient. I am pretty sure she will like it. I found the design online and changed the colors and part of the design. I'm please with how it turned out. I can't show whose initials are on it because it's a surprise.
This is still so new to me and I'm enjoying spending time reading blogs that I forget to post on mine. LOL

July Exchange Gift
I belong to an online group called Victoria Cyber Stitchers. We've all taken a Victoria Sampler online class. I'm working on my July Exchange Gift for _____. (Gotta keep it a secret until July 25, 2009) I love that I'm stitching something again. I have a one month old Grandson (he is GRAND!) and it seems that I don't have time to get anything done what with being grandma and my other mother/wife responsibilities. I've put my quilting aside for this month and am stitching a wonderful gift tin for the exchange. I found a free chart from Valentine's Day and changed the colors and used only parts of it for my design. I really like how it is turning out. I am almost ready to put it together. I still have to make a scissors fob to go with the tiny scissors that will fit into the tin but I think it's going to be delightful. I want to make one for myself! LOL

Happy New Year!
Well it's a few days into the new year and I'm thrilled the kids are back in school. I have the house back to myself during the day and today I spent it cleaning up my quilting area. It was not a success because it's not cleaner but I did find some quilt tops that I had been missing! LOL I need more storage! I want to get rid of the piano in my room and put storage in it's place but Scot loves the piano even though nobody plays it anymore. I'll get it dealt with eventually and it will be storage space at some point this year. I'd like to get some photos up here but I'm still learning how this whole blogging thing works and haven't gotten that far yet. Lots of things to learn this year!
